The 2001 Corbaia adds some black highlights to its full ruby color, and is even warmer and riper than the Chianti Classico Riserva. A Sangiovese-Cabernet blend, its well defined red and black currants aromas and flavor are given additional complexity by the notes of tar, graphite, and chocolate. Very solid, its intensity and its slightly chewy tannins indicate both a significant aging potential and a need of a bit more bottle time. Drink: 2005-2016.
