|"Appearance: Slight chill haze with a deep brown color with reddish orange hues, the thin light beige lace is nearly unmovable.
Smell: Malty with a sweet caramel prune like aroma, very fragrant with undertones of toasted bread.
Taste: Full bodied with a chewy mouth feel and a creamy soft carbonation. Malt flavour is dominant though the sweet and spicy alcohol, medium bitterness and mild yet crisp carbonation keep it in check a bit. Malt sweetness lingers with a big caramel and prune flavour. Suggestions of chocolate, crust of sweet bread and a mild peppery flavour from the hops. Toasted grain, faint hop leaf and a touch of earthy character wrap up the finish.
Notes: A tasty malt towering brew, makes for a great dessert or end of the night brew. Brewed in the old style of Dunkles Starkbier meaning dark strong beer, more or less can be classified as a Double Bock due to its massive maltiness and boasting an alcohol by volume of 7.4%." —Jason Alström, BeerAdvocate
