"Purple garnet color. Powerful and complex aromas of ripe fruit, spices, cocoa, blackberry, plum, vanilla notes, toasted notes from new oak. Smooth palate, gentle, gourmand, mineral, ripe tannins, good acidity with a silky texture and excellent balance. Pair with steak with mushrooms, hare, partridge, lamb, smoked meats, stews and rice with meat, salmon, cod and tuna, smoked meats, eggplant with parmesan cheese, blue cheeses, and cured cheese in general." —winemaker

Blend: 50% Monastrell, 25% Tempranillo, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon
"Inky purple. Sexy, spice-accented dark berry preserve and incense aromas show very good energy and hints of violet and dark chocolate. Sappy, incisive blackberry and bitter cherry flavors coat the palate, picking up a smoky nuance with air. At once rich and lively, finishing with strong thrust and supple tannins. An outstanding value, from a seriously grand vintage across Spain." —Josh Raynolds, Vinous

"This well-knit red has harmonious flavors of plum, tobacco, licorice and mineral, with well-integrated tannins and firm acidity. Not flamboyant, but solid and focused. Drink now through 2020. 2,000 cases imported." —Tim Fish, Wine Spectator
