'His 2005s are all stunning wines, but one of his most intriguing wines, aged completely in 600-liter demi-muids, is the essentially equal-part blend of Mourvedre and Grenache, the 2005 Les Copains James Berry Vineyard. From these limestone soils, this sexy wine boasts terrific blue and black fruits intermixed with some crushed rock and floral notes. The wine has admirable purity and decent acidity in a medium to full-bodied, lush, fruit-driven style with the oak clearly pushed to the background. This is a beauty and a great bistro selection.
