"As disorientating as falling through a weakened wall and landing in a Gatsby-esque Prohibition speakeasy at the Sazerac Bar in the Roosevelt of New Orleans: braised strawberry compote, private-eye cigars, muddled sassafras branch, cherry candle wax, rose hips, blueberry beignets, foie gras and ginger snaps. All swaddled in the comfort of low light and true crushed velvet seats." —winemaker

Wine Anthology review:
Made from 100% Grenache from 11 top California vineyards personally selected by winemaker Russell From, the 2013 On the Road is an enormous effort that carries on right where Nuts & Bolts left off, packing the same full-bodied punch in a varietally rigorous package. If big wines are your game, your ears should be burning right now: the stage is set with rich, liqueur-like raspberry and cherry notes woven here and there with nutmeg and diverse baking spices. At 16.1% alcohol, On the Road's big and bold character makes itself known with every sip.
"Checking in as 100% Grenache, the 2013 On The Road (Grenache) was half destemmed and brought up in 65% new and 35% neutral French oak. It offers up a perfumed bouquet of kirsch and black raspberry fruits, crushed rocks, spice and dried earth in a full-bodied, supple, balanced and delicious style. It has a kick of savory tannin to integrate, but it's already approachable and should offer tons of pleasure over the coming 4-5 years." —Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate

"Vibrant ruby-red. Sexy, focused aromas of raspberry liqueur, potpourri and peppery spices. Sweet, seamless and broad, offering intense red fruit and lavender pastille flavors accented by allspice and star anise. The velvety, expansive, floral finish shows excellent persistence and harmonious tannins. There's 16.1% alcohol here, for those keeping score at home. Drinking window: 2018-2024." —Josh Raynolds, Vinous
