"Vibrant and fruity, Termes stands out for its lively character. This wine perfectly expresses the Toro region. At the Numanthia winery, extended maceration of the grape skins and reqular racking during 16 months' ageing in French oak barrels give the wine a lively combination of fruit and structure. Toasted notes with cedar and spice frame a richly layered, juicy texture on the palate." —winemaker

The 2012 Termes is a highly polished Tempranillo that shows off the full, muscular style for which Toro wines are known – it's no coincidence that Toro means "bull"! Despite its considerable power, the 2012 is not simply about physical strength. It has a depth of flavor, revealing notes of spicy pepper and beef that mingle with the juicy raspberry and blackberry fruit.
"Bright violet color. Powerful, smoke-accented aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, floral pastilles and minerals. Delivers a suave blend of richness and vivacity, offering juicy boysenberry and mulberry flavors and a building note of spicecake. The floral element repeats strongly on a very long, subtly tannic finish, along with lingering notes of cherry pit and cracked pepper. This wine was aged in one-third new oak. "The 2012 Termes is pure Tinta de Toro (aka Tempranillo) from a number of vineyards on sandy and stony soils aged in 30% new barrels for 12 to 15 months. There are some savory aromas mixing cured meat with the classical Tempranillo black raspberries, and some lactic and spice aromas (cola nut), with hints of granite and licorice. The palate shows good freshness within the ripe and powerful style of the zone; it has good balance between tannins, alcohol and acidity. This is the more drinkable of the three.
