"This wine is as beautiful and complex as its muse. The journey begins with a floral bouquet of rose petals and a zest of orange blossom. Subtle hints of cocoa and a sweet and spicy clove round out an elegant yet complex nose. The palate is serious but fun. The mid-palate is compact but playful throughout with hints of dark chocolate and incredibly smooth tannins. The finish is very chewy and long. This wine offers finesse instead of raw power!" —winemaker

"The opaque purple-colored 2010 Cuvee Julia (packaged in a special heavy bottle), the winery’s flagship offering, is named after the proprietor’s daughter. It reveals abundant notes of lead pencil shavings, vanilla, creme de cassis and blackberries as well as stunning richness, purity and texture. This full-bodied classic is the finest wine I have ever tasted from Delectus. Deep, rich and long, its tannins are sweet enough that it can be drunk now, but it should age easily for two decades. This stunning red is a great example of Knights Valley viticulture. "Easy to see what the winemaker was aiming for with this Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine. Sheer opulence was the goal, and it succeeds. The wine is soft and gentle, with ultrarefined tannins and incredibly ripe, concentrated blackberry jam, blueberry, chocolate and sweet oak flavors.
