"Rivalta is a town in the Italian Piedmont from where Don Pedro Pavone Voglino emigrated. This wine is a tribute to the founder of the winery, wine pioneer and audacious as the estate that reflects the special character and complexity of our old grapevines of varietals network. Rivalta is a special blend for important occasions and with a great potential for aging. Intense ruby red color. Intense aromas of black fruits, blueberries, cassis, black pepper and a touch of mint that give it elegance. Round on the palate and with an excellent structure, mature tannins and great texture. Persistent finish." —winemaker

Blend: 47% Carmenere, 20% Carignan, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah
"A toasty red, featuring a mix of red and black fruits, spice cake, licorice and smoke notes, with plenty of grip to the long, dark finish. Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Drink now. 250 cases imported." —Nathan Wesley, Wine Spectator

"The 2008 Rivalta is a blend of 47% Carmenere, 20% Carignan, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah that is aged in new French oak for 20 months. It has a lifted nose of blackberry, cedar and pine that gives a nod to a young Bordeaux. The palate is medium-bodied with fully ripe, juicy tannins and pastille-like fruit." —Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
