|"2013 was the third year of the current drought cycle and this Chardonnay shows it in its density of character. A solid core of youthful citrus, orange blossom and honeysuckle aromas, combine with flavors that are broad, savory and multilayered with a seamless, long finish. Still a baby, this 2013 should drink well for another decade. This wine is composed of 72% Mount Eden estate fruit and 28% Domaine Eden fruit." —winemaker
Wine Anthology review:
When we tasted this new Domaine Eden Chardonnay, we were blown away by its expressive aromatic profile that included ripe white peach, candied citrus, and hints of herbal tea (chamomile, mint). It's distinctively Chardonnay with a lively personality, yet also features a delicate side to underscore its more subtle herb and floral notes. This elegant, precisely focused 2013 is a great introduction to Mount Eden's style, especially when it's half the price of the estate's flagship Chardonnay!
