Tightly wound, but rich and concentrated, with a focused mix of dried currant, wild berry, herb, spice and cedar. This gets more interesting on the finish, where the flavors fan out and gain depth, ending with a nice firm, tannic finish. Best from 2009 through 2015. 405 cases made. –JL
The 2005 is the real deal. Super-ripe but with impressive underlying acidity and structure, the wine has notes of charcoal, roasted herbs, tapenade, black currant, licorice, and camphor. It is deep, full-bodied, rich, with good acidity and sweet tannin. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.- Robert Parker- 93 points.
