|"Appearance: Dull golden in colour with a pure white, rocky, sticky, chunky head (almost seems alive). Clarity is decent and the head stays for a long time.
"Smell: Raw honey, peppery with a medicinal phenolic background. Vague suggestions of horse blanket and a musty graininess in the aroma also.
"Taste: Medium body, very crisp with a slick mouth feel. Mild lemon and fruity tartness swirls around with leafy, grassy and earthy flavours. Honeylike sweetness within, malt character is a tad dry with biscuity flavours. Yeast adds a nutty dryness that is similar to aged walnuts. Spicy phenols give off herbal and medicinal flavour but not in an overwhelming way, clove pushes the envelope the most. Alcohol runs estery with fruity flavours that suggest pineapple and plantains. Spiciness lingers and the dryness lends more nutty flavours in the end.
"Notes: Raw and complex yet oh so drinkable, impossible to tell it would have been from NY in a blind tasting. One of our favourites, bring a couple of 750 ml bottles to the dinner party and see if this sparks anyones interest away from wine." —BeerAdvocate Magazine
"Slightly hazy golden yellow color. Attractive aromas of peach-orange soufflé, frittata, candied ginger and delicate peppery spices with a round, well carbonated fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a juicy, sweet citrus, peppery spice, wafer and mineral finish. A very flavorful, balanced and easy drinking saison." —Beverage Testing Institute
