"Deep ruby-red color scattered with purple highlights. The nose is very attractive and fruity, revealing a delicious array of fresh fruit notes (cherry), underpinned by subtle hints of spice. This beautiful 2018 Bonnet starts out straightforward on the palate, becoming very round, delicious and sweet. Fresh red fruit aromas (cherry) follow through to the palate." —winemaker

"Bold, deep and concentrated on the nose. Ripe, fresh and so succulent with mouthwatering acidity and fleshy texture. Still so youthful, I love the upfront nature of the elements - it's characterful and has real personality with the bright strawberry and blackcurrant fruit underpinned by high acidity and offset by plush tannins. After a few seconds the primary fruit subsides leaving a host of menthol and wood spiced elements that provide the backbone - still quite apparent at the moment but they give a sense of the structure and provide nuance and layers of flavour. A mighty wine that could be kept a few more years before opening. Grapes come from clay-limestone hilltop vineyards of Grézillac in the Entre-deux-Mers. From the Andre Lurton stable, now overseen by Jacques Lurton, also of Château Couhins Lurton, La Louvière, Rochemorin, Cruzeau and Barbe Blanche. A 60/40 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 12 months in 20% new oak barrels." —Decanter

"Sourced from vineyards that surround the winery and fermented without oak to preserve the underlying expression of its classic terroir, this is Sauvignon Blanc as channeled through the unique prism of Bordeaux, offering the enhanced texture, elegance, and richness of body that are the region’s hallmarks. According to Jean Marc, part of that depth also results from the small touch of Sémillon (the region’s “other” white grape) he includes in the blend, which imparts a certain “je ne sais quoi” that immediately conjures white Bordeaux. With its cleansing freshness and acidity and flavors of citrus and melon, it’s a quintessential oyster wine, but has all the necessary structure to stand up to richer fish and shellfish dishes (think pan-seared trout or broiled lobster)." —importer

"Beautiful dark colour tinged with bright red. Generous nose of ripe fruits with a jammy touch. The palate is heady, dense and balanced, delivering more of the same ultra ripe aromas. A Bordeaux drinking well lightly chilled with grilled foods." —winemaker

"The wine owes much of its complexity to its varied upbringing, unifying grapes from California's most notable winegrowing regions. Meiomi Pinot Noir brings you structure and depth seldom seen in a Pinot Noir wine, thanks to its unique and meticulous aging process. Aged for six months in French oak barrels, this California red wine's juicy strawberry flavor and notes of dark berries and toasted mocha add complexity and depth on the palate." —winemaker
