Casanova Della Spinetta Il Rose di Casanova 2018

"Giorgio Rivetti, the man who never sleeps, is at it again! His quest to make great wine has taken him from Piedmont to Tuscany, into the world of sparkling wines and aperitivos, and ROSATO. Il Rose is a blend of equal parts Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile. The six hectare vineyard sits at about 300 meters above sea level and enjoys southern exposure. Bursts of red fruit and citrus makes this a summer sipper best paired with food or conversation." —importer

Jonata La Tierra De Jonata 2006

"Classic Jonata Sangiovese notes of strawberry, wild raspberry and clove. Lives up to its name with earthy nuances emerging as it sits in the glass. Hints of cured meat and fennel also join the complex aromatic profile. Very focused wine with exceptional length. Dried strawberry and leather. As always the finish is highlighted by a vibrant acid backbone and subtle, fine grained tannins that together hint at a long life ahead for this young wine." -winemaker

Rocca di Frassinello Le Sughere Maremma 2008

"The 2008 Le Sughere di Frassinello is 50% Sangioveto, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is one of the more refined, elegant wines I have tasted from this emerging property in Gavorrano. Layers of ripe dark fruit emerge in a silky, refined style that is utterly irresistible. Mint, flowers and spices follow, adding further complexity, while a final burst of juiciness has the last say on the finish. This isn’t the biggest wine Rocca di Frassinello has made, but I am deeply impressed by the classiness and length of the regal finish. As always, I recommend the estate’s wines be opened at least 30 minutes in advance, which seems to help the aromatics of these wines find their center. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022." -Antonio Galloni

Serbolino il Picchio Rosso di Montalcino 2016

"Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C. is put in new 50 hectolitre barrels in medium toasted oak from Slavonia for eight months. Its vinification is made with middle-long soaking on the marcs with frequent repassings in the early stages of the fermentation. The maximum temperature reaches 29 degrees centigrade and falls freely as long as racking. It is a vintage wine, limpid intense ruby with clove and liquorice aroma. Its flavour is dry and savoury." —winemaker
