"Wider availability of organic malts has made it possible for Samuel Smith's to produce a classic pale ale from all-organic ingredients. Developed in 2011 and 2012 after many test batches and tasting sessions; will replace Sam Smith's Organic Ale. A classic malt-accented, copper-colored pale ale in which subtle fruity esters from the Samuel Smith yeast strain interact with caramel flavors — from organic crystal malt — and fresh hops. Serve with dungeness crab salad, free-range herbed chicken, hummus, smoked salmon and masala. Serve in traditional Samuel Smith nonik." —importer
"Appearance: Bright and copper colored with sea foam-like off-white lace.

"Smell: Hint of hops with a light Jolly Rancher candy-like fruitiness.

"Taste: Medium bodied and a dryish mouth feel show on the palate, subdued fruitiness and a malty sweetness holds the front with a mellow biscuity malt taste. Hop bitterness and a slight husk flavour help to balance. A little grainy in the finish with a true pale ale dryness in the end.

"Notes: Clean to the tongue with lots of complexity, perfect quaffing material...A Pale Ale to reckon with." —Jason Alström, BeerAdvocate

"This classic English pale ale pours a clear, light mahogany hue with a small, coffee-colored head and a nice rim of lacing. A rich toasted malt core leads the way, with notes of caramel, raw sweet dough and baked apple adding complexity throughout. The medium-weight mouth is full and satisfying but remarkably clean thanks to assertive carbonation and a floral hop finish with an appropriate dryness." —Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast Magazine

"Deep copper color with a manilla head. Inviting aromas of honeyed toasted English muffin and lemon curd with a crisp, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a satiny, exceptionally well balanced finish with the emphasis on herb bread and grassy, earthy hops. Very true to style and a pleasure to drink." —Beverage Testing Institute
