"Old vines planted along Seaview Road, perhaps the most hallowed ground in McLaren Vale. Brutally tough terrain yields fruit bursting with color, flavor and tannin. Open fermented and gently pressed, the wine then rests for 18 months in fine grain French oak barrels (30% new). Bottled unfiltered and unfined, we believe in non-interventionist wine making to create a true picture of Jimmy's Section." —winemaker

Wine Anthology review:
Jimmy's Section is a small parcel of old vines next to Seaview Road which has been called "perhaps the most hallowed ground in McLaren Vale" for the consistently excellent fruit it produces. The first vintages that made it to the US were quickly scooped up by industry insiders and ever since then, Jimmy's Section has become a much sought-after item. The 2012 bursts with aromas of blueberry preserves and blackcurrant with a touch of cedar from its French oak aging. Adorned with voluptuous appeal, it shows off great structure to complement its expressive, sexy persona that closes with a gorgeous mineral and earthy finish.
"Deep purple-black in color and intensely scented of blackcurrant cordial, preserved plums and dried mulberries with touches of cedar, sandalwood, spice cake and licorice, the full-bodied 2012 Jimmy Selection Shiraz is voluptuous in the mouth with the richness of preserved black fruit and anise flavors nicely offset by firm chewy tannins and balanced acid. It finishes with great length. Drink it now to 2022+." —Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate

"Such clarity in this shiraz with cracked black pepper, dark berry and black tobacco aromas and flavors. Full body, very fine tannins, grilled meat, leafy undertone and juicy fruit. Drink now." —JamesSuckling.com

"Inky purple. Cassis, blackberry and blueberry scents are complemented by sexy notes of mocha and oak spices. Concentrated, sharply delineated and seamless, with excellent lift to its flavors of blackberry, Indian spices, candied flowers and dark chocolate. Closes focused and long, with resonating spiciness, a touch of violet pastille and very soft tannins." —Josh Raynolds, Vinous
