"The harvest is carried out entirely by hand and the grapes are totally destemmed before a maceration of 14-30 days, depending on the variety. Parcels are vinified separately, which ensures complete control during l’assemblage. The Syrah is matured in barriques for ten months, while the Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan are placed in concrete vats to preserve freshness and fruit. The result is a wine with plum preserve, garrigue and meaty aromas, underpinned by oak spice and earthy notes. Focused, with fine-grained tannins the palate is succulent and ripe with great balance and freshness." —importer

Wine Anthology review:
Terrasses du Larzac is named for the Larzac plateau, situated next to the village of St. Jean de la Blaquiere where many of Mollard & Fillon's neighboring growers live. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan with a splash of Cinsault, this 2013 offers plentiful notes of violets and earthy grilled herbs that orbit around a core of ripe black and red fruits. With its supple, smooth-textured mouthfeel and medium-full body, this is sure to find fans with almost anyone with a taste for French red blends. And the low price tag means it's easy to stock up on!
"An outstanding wine, the 2013 Terrasses du Larzac is a medium to full-bodied, textured, forward and fleshy effort that gives up lots blue and black fruits, spring flowers and hints of crushed rock. It’s slightly more serious than the 2012, and should drink nicely for 3-4 years." —Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate
