"There is more to the red 2013 Sierra de la Demanda Tinto, a blend of 75% Garnacha, 20% Tempranillo and 5% white Viura from old vines planted on red sandstone soils. It fermented in used, open-top barrels for 28 days with daily foot treading followed by an élevage of 20 months; the first year was in well-seasoned 500-liter French oak barrels followed by a further eight months in newer ones. It's very spicy with hints of leather and more pronounced aromas and flavors, with a mixture of red and black fruit on the fine palate that has elegant tannins and good acidity.
