"A brilliant ruby red in color with a tendency to garnet with an ethereal bouquet. Extraordinarily elegant with hints of violet and wood. The taste is dry, harmonic, fruity and velvety, with an elegant texture and long finish. After bottling the wine is aged in our temperature controlled cellars for at least 12 months before release. In order to deliver the highest quality, Carpineto has chosen to age this wine one year longer than the 3 years required by appellation rules for a Riserva wine." - winemaker
"Subtle plum, toast, underbrush and violet aromas slowly emerge in this Riserva. The firm palate offers black currant, sour cherry, dried sage and espresso, while taut, close-grained tannins leave an assertive finish. Drink 2018–2023." - Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast

"The 2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is made with 70% Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile) and 30% Canaiolo with other red grapes. The wine shows great authenticity with earthy tones, dried rose, black fruit, cola and balsam herb. This Vino Nobile Riserva reveals a velvety texture and evident tannins at the back. It should evolve over the next decade, but you can also drink it now." - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

"This is dense, with black cherry, blackberry, tobacco and leather flavors, picking up mineral and spice details on the long aftertaste. Shows ample tannins, fine depth and complexity. Drink now through 2023. 2,000 cases made." - BS, Wine Spectator
