"Quinta do Noval 2011 Unfiltered LBV is a Single Vineyard LBV, made from grapes exclusively grown in Quinta do Noval's own vineyards, at the heart of the Douro valley. It has a deep rich red colour with ripe aromas of cherries on the nose, a mouthful of fresh red fruits with a fine and silky tannic structure and a long harmonious finish. Ideally served as an accompaniment to chocolate, cheese, dessert, or simply on its own. This wine is unfiltered and will continue to develop in the bottle. It may throw sediment and need decanting." - winemaker
"Coming from the great 2011 vintage, this is an impressive wine. It is rich, smooth and generous in the mouth. Dark dried fruits and acidity create a wine that is on the dry side of Ports. The tannins and acidity and the fact the wine is unfiltered mean it could age although ready now. Drink until 2030." - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

"A very reserved LBV with attractive grip and density, and one that's not too sweet. Medium body, a fine tannin texture and a flavorful finish. Drink or hold. This will age nicely." - JamesSuckling.com

"Bright medium ruby. Knockout aromas of black fruits, pungent minerality, licorice, violet, black pepper and sexy nutty oak quickly shut down in the glass. Wonderfully sweet, layered and perfumed, with an alluring element of exotic flowers but also a spine of steel underneath. The authoritative, palate-staining finish displays outstanding energy, with the tannins really clamping down on the wine's intense fruit today. This great wine will need at least 15 years of cellaring before it approaches peak drinkability and should go on for at least a few decades beyond that." - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
