Cave de Roquebrun St.-Chinian-Roquebrun La Grange des Combes 2016

"Very nice dark colour. Complex nose, with crushed red fruit aromas. The attack develops little red fruit aromas. In mouth, the structure is supple and very well balanced, with spicy aromas. Very pleasant during a meal, this wine is perfect with red meat." —winemaker

Domaine Calvet-Thunevin Cuvee Constance 2015

"Seduced by the quality from the terroirs of this region of France, Jean-Luc Thunevin decided to create a partnership with Jean-Roger Calvet and buy a few hectares of vineyards in 2000, located in Maury with beautiful terroirs of black schists. The Constance cuvee was created in 2003 and became of the of the best vins de pays des Côtes Catalanes, now upgraded to Côtes de Roussillon Villages." —importer

Domaine Lafage Cotes du Roussillon Lieu Dit Narassa 2016

"La Narassa is sourced from the famed black schist soils of the Agly valley in the northern Roussillon near the village of Maury. It is made in a semi-ripasso by harvesting the Grenache in successive passes picking only the ripest clusters. Once at the cellars the fruit is destemmed and only the best berries are chosen for fermentation after a short pre-fermentation maceration." —winemaker

Domaine Lafage Cuvee Centenaire Blanc 2017

"Pale green with bright reflections. On the nose, nice minerality in the attack (flinty notes), hints of vanilla and ripe fruit (pear, white peach). The palate is full and rich with a nice tension. It offers a subtle blend of citrus, white fruit, and mineral notes. The tasting ends with a surprisingly long finish." —winemaker

Domaine Lafage Cuvee Nicolas Grenache 2017

Domaine Lafage Miraflors Rose 2018

"Named after an old estate located in the heart of Domaine Lafage, Mas Miraflors, the Miraflors Rosé is sourced from old vines of Grenache Gris, nearing 80 years old, planted near the Mediterranean. Added to this is some Mourvedre that Jean-Marc planted here about 15 years ago. This a direct press rosé with the color coming from the skins of the pink Grenache Gris berries, and naturally, from the much darker Mourvedre. It is aged in tank for 4 months before bottling." —winemaker

Domaine Lafage Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2017

"Carignan has had a rather tumultuous history in the south of France. Once seen as a necessary grape to spur the recovery of the region after the plague of phylloxera in the late 19th century, primarily for its ability to produce high yields, it has been largely replaced with 'nobler' varieties such as Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. This is unfortunate – for as challenging as the variety is to love when the vines are young, they are superb with half a century under their belt. Jean-Marc Lafage luckily resisted the call to uproot and replace this variety, and he possesses Carignan vines well over 70 years old on schist with which he makes the Tessellae Carignan." —importer

Domaine Lafage Tessellae Old Vines 2015

Gerard Bertrand Cote des Roses Rose 2018

"A soft, pale, brilliant pink with bluish tints developing over time towards more orangey nuances. The bouquet releases aromas of summer fruits, cassis and redcurrant. Floral notes of rose along with hints of grapefruit complete the picture. The finish is fresh, offering notes of candy. On the palate the impression is fresh and full, with great aromatic persistence and balance." —winemaker
$17.99 $13.69 (Save $4.30)

Jean-Marc Lafage Cote Est White 2017

"Côté d’Est, as the name suggests, comes from vineyards planted on the gentle slopes facing the Mediterranean just a few kilometers inland from the sea. Benefiting from the thermal breezes that refresh these vineyards every afternoon in the summer – which preserves a high level of natural acidity in the grapes – this is a lively blend of Grenache Blanc with smaller percentages of Chardonnay and Marsanne. Floral and aromatic, it is an excellent example of the open and friendly whites you can find all along the Catalan coast from Perpignan to the Penedès." —importer
$14.49 $10.79 (Save $3.70)

Lafage Bastide Miraflors Rouge 2016

"Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage farm 160 hectares of vines located just south of the capital of French Catalonia, Perpignan. Some of their vineyards are situated a few kilometers from the Mediterranean while others can be found in the foothills of the Pyrenees. This range of sites allow them to make both refreshing whites as well as concentrated reds and, this being the Roussillon, some fortified wines as well. Benefiting from a warm, dry climate, the estate is farmed organically. They harvest by hand and the winemaking is surprisingly uncomplicated with mostly concrete tanks with a small amount of French oak demi-muids." —importer

Le Charmel Pinot Noir 2017

"This wine shows deep in color, with ruby tints. It has scents of red and black berries mixed with floral notes, together with hints of delicate spices and vanilla. On the palate, it displays aromas of crushed black fruits such as raspberries, black currants, cherries and black-cherry jam. This wine is complex, rich and long with well integrated tannins." —winemaker
