19 Crimes The Punishment Pinot Noir 2017

"Nineteen crimes turned criminals into colonists. Upon conviction, British rogues, guilty of at least one of the 19 Crimes, were sentenced to live in Australia, rather than death. This punishment by 'transportation' began in 1788, and many of the lawless died at sea. For the rough-hewn prisoners who made it to the shore, a new world awaited. As pioneers in a frontier penal colony, they forged a new country and new lives, brick by brick. This Pinot Noir celebrates the rules they broke and the culture they built. It would be a crime not to drink it!" —winemaker

A to Z Wineworks Pinot Noir 2016

"The 2016 A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir highlights the ripeness and concentration of the vintage with an uncommon grace and style. The compelling nose opens with vibrant notes of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, raspberry, strawberry, red current, plum, thyme, sage and baking spices. The scents are lifted by lingering rose petal and violet aromas, while deeper notes of graphite, leather, and pipe tobacco bring depth. On the palate, the wine echoes the initial aromatics with juicy flavors of blue and red fruits and hints of secondary flavors like chocolate malt, duke de leche, coffee and a bit of earthiness. 2016 A to Z Pinot Noir is built for midterm aging and will drink great over the next 5 years ."

Acrobat Pinot Noir 2017

"The 2017 vintage is a brilliant example of Pinot Noir from a consistent and warmer than average Western Oregon growing season. In the glass, there is a garnet-colored center with bright ruby edges. The nose has rich, fruit-forward aromas like ripe cherries and strawberry pie, with hints of cinnamon, vanilla and mocha. Thee palate echoes with ripe strawberries and dark chocolate up front, followed by earthy and spicy notes of forest floor and clove. Expect this to age beautifully through the next decade." Winemaker

Birichino Saint Georges Pinot Noir 2016

"The 2016 continues our string of savory, silky, and aromatic vintages of pinot noir, emblematic more of Birichino World, than Old or New. As with the first vintage back in 2011, George Besson’s vineyard in the lee of the Santa Cruz Mountains plays a starring role. A field-grafted, rockier, steeper section of his site now lends additional support to its bright, lifted, red-fruited floral hallmark. With the main block at Besson nearing thirty, its great natural balance and even maturation has allowed us to include an increasing proportion of whole clusters. We were also lucky to find a site in the Arroyo Seco AVA whose supple texture and delicate aromatics dovetail nicely with George’s fruit. Finally, several barrels of our Lilo Santa Cruz Mountains and Antle Chalone pinots civilize and invigorate, respectively, the final blend. As always, this wine was vinified under the mysterious and prismatic auspices of wild yeast and bottled without filtration, though this year for this first time a third of the volume was aged in cement while we entrusted our quite old barriques for the remainder." —winemaker

Block Nine Caiden's Vineyards Pinot Noir 2018

"Our family started Block Nine in response to changes in the Pinot Noir market. Demand for moderately priced Pinot Noir has spiked over the last few years. Large, mass marketed brands brought most of the Pinot to the market leaving consumers with few choices of smaller production Pinot Noir from California. This is our focus. We make only Pinot Noir."- Winery

Bogle Pinot Noir 2016

"Bogle winemakers have sourced fruit from the best growing regions in California for the varietal. The terroirs of the cool Russian River Valley, coastal Monterey hills and the unique Clarksburg Delta all grow fruit of character and distinction. Combined, the resulting wine is and elegant, classic Pinot Noir. Heady scents of ripe summer strawberries make a lovely first impression, while hints of crushed violets and sweet dried herbs resonate on the nose. Refined and nuanced, the mouthfeel softens as layers of cherry fruit are wrapped in a comforting blanket of pipe tobacco and worn leather. The firm, yet lingering finish is perfectly balanced with touches of baking spices, fragrant fruit and earth tones." —winemaker
