"Crafted to honor the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, Remus Repeal Reserve Series VIII continues the high-quality legacy of The King of the Bootleggers, George Remus, who was widely known for supplying the finest bourbons of the Roaring 20s. Building on this tradition, Ross & Squibb Master Distiller Ian Stirsman and the highly experienced blending team included a greater proportion of the high-rye bourbon than in past editions. This year's offering includes 9% of a 17-year-aged bourbon containing 21% rye; 24% of a 10-year-aged bourbon comprising 21% rye, and 67% of a second 10-year-aged bourbon containing 36% rye. The unique medley of extra-aged bourbon gives Remus Repeal Reserve Series VIII an aroma of cherry, candied pecans and hint of leather on the nose; flavors of maple syrup and cherry followed by fig, and a finish featuring vanilla and oak with lingering notes of baking spice." —producer

"If water is essential to whisky production, it follows that the character of the water used can have a considerable influence on the profile of the spirit. The founder of the Kavalan distillery has spent years searching for the perfect site, with the ideal water supply. He chose Yilan as the site for its abundant supply of cold, spring water flowing through the Snow Mountain. Kavalan, the earliest tribe that inhabited Yilan, represents sincerity, honesty, and the spirit of step-by-step cultivation. Kavalan distillery continues the tradition of passionate commitment to creating the premium whisky. The effort goes into every drop of new make spirit and every seasoned cask we choose. Coupled with the mastery of the blender, they ensure the silky smoothness and distinctive flavours of Kavalan whisky." —producer

"The Japanese dragon is a powerful being that controls water and rains. They are believed to bring luck and symbolize power, strength, and authority, and are much more human and demonstrate human emotions and experiences. Ryūjin, the deity of the sea in Japanese myths, is one of the most important of all Japanese dragons. He represents the power of the ocean and was a patron of Japan. Considering that the sea and seafood are important for Japanese livelihood, Ryūjin plays a significant role in Japanese culture and history, and is believed to be one of the forefathers of the Japanese imperial dynasty. "A meticulous search of the cask inventory revealed an intriguing array of fine aged malt and grain Scotch whiskies aged 25 years and older. Each cask was individually sampled and assessed by Master Blender, Stephanie MacLeod before being chosen. Once MacLeod was satisfied that she had a perfectly balanced flavour profile in the Dewar's House Style, the specially selected casks were blended together and then filled into oak casks for an additional period of maturation, a process pioneered by Dewar's, known as double-ageing, to add more depth and enriched smoothness. During this extra period of maturation, the disparate characters of the malts and grains are allowed to interact with one another and mellow further. In an extra step unique to the new 25-year-old expression, the whisky was then filled into a set of freshly disgorged Royal Brackla casks for an extra period of finishing. Dewar's 25 is endlessly smooth, rich and elegant. Awakened on the palate: the sophisticated whisky is glorious in its harmony and balance, gently revealing layers of rich fruit, floral notes and delicate honey, with a hint of smoke to finish." —producer

And this time, because we wanted to retain most of the flavours, the alcoholic strength was raised to 46%! This is the first expression launched in the name of King Car which is the name of the Group. The chairman of the Group, Mr. T. T. Lee, wanted to have a whisky that could also represent the company to show the kind of diverse business that we do, and this King Car (aka Conductor) truly represents the Group with its complex flavours, delicate aromas, and multiple layers of background fruitiness!" —producer
