"Ruby red in color. Intense and intriguing on the nose, initial aromas of mature red and black fruits, such as cherries, plums, and small black berries, typical of Sangiovese, are complemented by hints of spices, sweet tobacco, and refined balsamic notes. Full-bodied with a modern Super Tuscan style, this wine is rich with silky tannins and flavors of mature blackberry fruit and cocoa. Vibrant fresh fruit flavors from the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot weave together with finesse, each adding its own distinctive character." —winemaker

"Dark, garnet-edged ruby; scents of wild cherry, dried rose petals, and cocoa powder; well balanced, with supple tannins. Two years of aging in French barrique have helped to craft a layered, complex Amarone with syrupy richness in the mouth, sweet smoke overtones and aromas of bacon, cola, leather and dried fruit." —winemaker

Wine Anthology Team Review- Only the ripest grapes that are picked in late October get chosen for this wine. Then the drying process begins (the Appassimento method) until the following January. The wine then gets put into Slovenion oak barrels and finishes the aging process. The result is a rich and lush wine that displays deep fruit flavors, hints of smoke and a deliciously, elongated finish. You can't do better for under $40. Cheers!
